‘Gynography’ - A Study in Disseminating Informational Herbalism in Women’s Health - 2015

‘Gynography’ was inspired by a new-found interest in effective herbs for women’s health. The artist was struck by the volume of information on women’s health herbalism, available only to those willing to seek it. The sanctity of this information has long been held in the minds of women outside of society, those persecuted in the past and those guarded against those who seek to stamp it out in the future. This series was part of an interactive installation titled ‘Gimme Givve’ in which participants could take a print of the artwork above and leave the artist anything they wanted that they felt was an even exchange for the print. Each work is free-hand illustrated with Micron pen and inked with Liquitex Acrylic Ink.

‘Fungal Flea’ - A Study in Lesser-Liked Species - 2016

‘Fungal Flea’ was a study of morphology in zoology and mycology and explored fungus and insects that are not as commonly known among the general public. This work first appeared in a public participatory artwork titled ‘Gimme Givve’ which asked participants to take a print and leave something (anything) for the artist of equal value. These works are shown here in their print version, ready for installation in ‘Gimme Givve’. Each work is free-hand illustrated with Micron pen and inked with Liquitex Acrylic Ink.

These works were originally illustrated as a Christmas present to the artist’s grandmother, Pat Zasada. Pat originally gave the artist the USPS postage stamps that appear on each work, which the artist used as inspiration to illustrate these gifts. Each is free-hand drawn in Micron pen and inked with Liquitex Acrylic Inks.
